Our Finance Minister in the budget speech of 2017-18 had announced the setting up of a national body which shall be responsible for conducting national level entrance exams. National Testing Agency (NTA) was approved by Union Cabinet last year in November in order to relieve CBSE, AICTE, etc. of their exam conducting duties.

These exams include the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
