Analysis of JEE MAIN 2015

JEE Main 2015 (Paper 1) exam was held in the pen-and-paper based mode or offline mode on April 4, 2015 – from 9 am to 12:30 pm – for admission to BE and B.Tech courses in the participating colleges.

This exam is conducted by The Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) every year. About 13 lakh students are scheduled to take the exam this year across India.

The paper consists of 3 parts – Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. There were 90 questions in the JEE Main paper which were 360 marks in total. Four marks are allotted for every correct answer.

Difficulty Level Analysis: No. of Questions


This was the most scoring section in the exam. But since most JEE aspirants pay little attention to the subject, they difficulty in solving the questions.


This was the toughest section of the exam and students took much time to solve all the numerical.


Though, this session was a bit more time-consuming as expected. This section was the easiest of the 3 sections in the exam.

From each of the 3 major branches of chemistry, 10 questions were asked:

  • Physical Chemistry,
  • Inorganic Chemistry,
  • Organic Chemistry.

So, the question paper was well-balanced with no favor to any particular branch of the subject.
