NEET 2017 to be Conducted in 8 Regional Languages

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Under Graduate (NEET UG) 2017 will be held in eight different regional languages namely – Assamese, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Oriya – in addition to English and Hindi.

“Under the directions of Health Minister J.P. Nadda, and after rigorous and extensive consultations with state governments about their examination pattern and other related aspects, it has been decided that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) from AY 2017-18 will be conducted in following 8 languages,” said a statement.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to use Aadhaar number to establish the identity of an individual. The students who are Indian nationals, ordinary residents or citizens of India will have to produce the details given on Aadhaar card while filling the NEET Exam 2017 application form. This is a good way to ensure the accuracy of details entered by the candidates. “There are a lot of students who do not provide proper addresses hence Aadhaar is a good mandate for NEET Exam 2017. The move is for the welfare of the applicants as well as the education board,” said T Balakrishna, chairman and managing director, Venkat International Public School & Group of Institutions.

There have been a lot of speculations about the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) examination date over the last few weeks. Putting an end to all these conjectures, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally announced the date. NEET UG 2017 will be held on the 7th of May across 80 cities.

The online application forms for NEET UG 2017 were out yesterday that is the 31st of January 2017 and need to be submitted by the 1st of March. The examination shall be conducted at 1,500 centres in different parts of the country and more than 10 lakh medical aspirants are expected to appear for the same.

NEET 2017: Now only 3 attempts allowed within 25 years of age

Several students appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) each year but only a few possess the conviction to get through it. In order to dissuade the non-serious candidates from appearing for the exam again and again the University Grants Commission (UGC) has reduced the number of attempts to three till the age of 25 years.

The minimum age for appearing in NEET is 17 years for all the categories. The maximum age for the same is 25 years for the general category and 30 years for the reserved category.

Satellite Flies 4000KM in Space to Focus on India

Communication satellite, 4 F2 belonging to a mobile satellite communication company based in London has lately been seen moving over India, above the Equator after travelling in the space for more than 4,000 km over a period of several months.

It was among the 12 satellites belonging to Inmarsat that was sent to the space by the satellite control centre based in London. Weighing as much as 6,000 kg, it was launched in November 2005 from Sea Launch platform onboard Zenith 3 SL and placed above the African continent with the objective of providing coverage to African and European countries. However, around two years back it was suggested to move the satellite worth $250 million. The total cost involved in moving the same amounted to $10 million. After travelling for several months, Inmarsat 4 F2 finally arrived at its present position in December 2015.

Indian Institute Can Tie Up with Foreign Schools for UG courses

Union Human Resource Development Minister, Smriti Irani recently announced that the educational institutes in India can now collaborate with different foreign institutions for undergraduate courses.
“For the first time in the history of our country, the government of India has allowed our institutions to tie up with foreign institutions for degree programmes for undergraduate courses,” Irani shared at the fourth convocation program of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata at Mohanpur campus in Nadia district.
She further stated that now the students will have the option of pursuing two semesters in foreign institution in undergraduate courses and one semester in postgraduate courses. “For undergraduate courses students now have a choice, in conjunction with their mother institute in India, to pursue two semesters overseas in a FEI and one semester in post graduate courses while still tied to their mother institute here,” Irani stated.
