As per Sukriti, she concentrated mainly on JEE until the middle of January 2016 and thereafter concentrated wholly and solely on the preparation of her board exams. “As far as concepts are concerned, there is no difference in board exams and JEE. It is only the pattern of question paper that is different for the two exams. Once the exams were over, I again switched to JEE preparation”, said the CBSE topper in an interview.

Delhi Government to Start Diploma Course in Pre-School Education

The government of Delhi is planning to begin with a Diploma in Pre-School Education in its nine District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) from the next session. There shall be 450 seats in the first year for the diploma course in the beginning.

This program is a way of furthering Delhi government’s 2016 announcement about establishing Early Childhood Education Development (ECED) centres. By way of introducing this all new course, the government aims to build skilled staff for 3,000 early childhood education centres. Talking about the same, Deputy CM, Manish Sisodia said, “Our government understands that merely announcing grand plans is never enough for them to succeed. There is a need to create institutional foundations on which programmes can be run successfully. In order to open 3,000 ECED centres, it is important to build human resource capacities. That is the purpose of the newly launched diploma programme.”

The procedure for downloading the card is very simple. Here are the steps you require following for the same:

  • On right hand side of the homepage under recent announcements click the link “Admit Card/ Intimation Letter for Private Candidates of Board Exam 2017.
  • Enter the details such as your name, application number, etc in the respective fields.

CBSE Scraps OTBA for Classes 9 and 11

OTBA for Classes 9 and 11

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced that the (Open Text Based Assessment) OTBA for classes 9 and 11 has been done away with from this academic year. This means that the students would no longer be allowed to carry textbooks to their examination halls.

The concept was introduced by CBSE in the year 2014. For class 9 OTBA was introduced for Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science and Science and for class 11 it was introduced for Economics, Geography and Biology.  Under OTBA, students were given study material four months prior to the exam and were allowed to take their case studies to the examination hall. By doing this an attempt was made to shift the focus from rote-learning to applying the information decisively. “Schools had to prepare question paper out of the material provided by the CBSE and students were asked questions based on that,” shared a senior official.
