The government is planning to bring back the CBSE Class 10 board exams in all the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated schools. The final verdict on this will be taken in a meeting of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) chaired by Prakash Javadekar, the Union Human Resource Development Minister.

“There have been representations from academicians as well as organisations of parents saying that scrapping the exam and with the no-detention policy being in place, the academic standards are being affected,” a senior HRD Ministry official said. The official further added that that it has been observed that the students are unable to handle the pressure of sitting for the CBSE Class 10 boards exam directly.
