Single Exam for Engineering and Architecture from 2018

The Human Resource Development Ministry (HRD) recently announced that it aims to conduct a single entrance examination for architecture and engineering at the undergraduate level from next year that is 2018 onward. The examination would be similar to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) held to select students for medical courses in various private and government medical colleges across the country.

While you all may be busy preparing for Joint Entrance Examination (Main) [JEE Main], the Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the date for Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) [JEE Advanced] 2017. The exam shall be conducted on the 21st of May 2017. Paper 1 will be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon and Paper 2 shall be held between 2 pm and 5 pm on the same day. Both the papers are compulsory. JEE Advanced 2017 shall be held by seven zonal IITs guided by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2017. JAB’s decisions would be final in all the matters pertaining to JEE Advanced 2017 as well as admission to IITs.
