Pituitary Gland, a main gland of our body, controls many other glands including the ovaries, thyroid and adrenal glands. Located at the base of the brain (near hypothalamus which is another part of the brain) it is as small as a pea. This gland consists of two main parts:

  1. Anterior Pituitary – The part at the front of the pituitary gland
  2. Posterior Pituitary – The part at the back of the pituitary gland

Both these parts exude different hormones and impact different parts of the body. Apart from these, pituitary gland also includes an intermediate part that releases a single hormone. It is basically the stalk via which this gland is connected to hypothalamus.

CBSE to conduct NEET UG 2017 on May 7

There have been a lot of speculations about the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) examination date over the last few weeks. Putting an end to all these conjectures, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally announced the date. NEET UG 2017 will be held on the 7th of May across 80 cities.

The online application forms for NEET UG 2017 were out yesterday that is the 31st of January 2017 and need to be submitted by the 1st of March. The examination shall be conducted at 1,500 centres in different parts of the country and more than 10 lakh medical aspirants are expected to appear for the same.
