EAMCET 2018: Registration, Exam, Syllabus, Study Material

eamcet 2018Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is conducted to provide admission in the top engineering and medical colleges in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Admission to courses such as B. Pharm, BSc., B.E., BDS and B. Tech in some colleges is also done on the basis of this test. Registration Process and Exam Date EAMCET 2018

EAMCET 2018 application form will be out in January 2018. These would be made available on the official website www.tseamcet.in. Those interested in applying for the exam can login to the site, key in the details in the application form and submit it. The form includes basic details of the candidates such as the name, age, mobile number, category, marks, etc.

The exam is held towards the end of April or in the beginning of May. The exact date is yet to be announced.

EAMCET 2018 Syllabus

Syllabus for EAMCET 2018 has been categorised into two sections – Engineering stream syllabus and Agriculture and Medical Stream Syllabus. Engineering stream syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Agriculture and Medical stream syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Here is a detailed look at this syllabus.


Algebra: This includes Theory of Equations, Mathematical Induction, De Moivre’s Theorem, Complex Numbers, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Quadratic Expressions, Partial fractions, Functions and Matrices.

Trigonometry: This includes Inverse Trigonometric Functions, Trigonometric Equations, Trigonometric Ratios up to Transformations, Properties of Triangles and Hyperbolic Functions.

Vector Algebra: This section includes Classification of Vectors, Addition of Vectors, Product of Vectors, Orthogonal projections Geometrical Vector methods, Component of a vector in three dimensions, Linear combination of vectors, Vector equations of plane in different forms and Scalar multiplication.

Probability: This includes Classical definition of probability, Binomial and Poisson Distributions, Random Variables and Probability Distributions, Probability and Measures of Dispersion.

Geometry: This includes Transformation of Axes, Three-Dimensional Coordinates, System of Circles, Direction Cosines and Direction Ratios, Plane, The Straight Line, Hyperbola, Locus, Circle, Ellipse, Parabola and A pair of Straight Lines.

Calculus: This section includes Definite Integrals, Differential equations, Differentiation, Integration, Applications of Derivatives and Limits and Continuity.


The topics included in the physics section are Laws of Motion, Units and Measurements, Systems of Particles and Rotational Motion, Dual nature of Radiation and Matter, Current Electricity, Electric Charges and Fields Communication Systems, Electromagnetic Induction, Motion in a Straight Line, Ray Optics and Optical Instruments, Thermal Properties of Matter, Motion in a Plane, Waves, Wave Optics, Mechanical Properties of Solids, Nuclei, Work, Energy and Power, Magnetism and Matter, Kinetic Theory, Oscillations, Physical World, Thermodynamics, Gravitation, Moving Charges and Magnetism, Mechanical Properties of Fluids, Electromagnetic Waves, Alternating Current, Atoms, Semiconductor Electronics, Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance.


The topics included in the chemistry section are Atomic Structure, Chemical Equilibrium and Acids-Bases, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Electrochemistry and Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, The S-Block Elements, P- Block Elements group 13 (boron family), P-Block Elements group 14 (carbon family), Organic Compounds containing C, H and O, D and F Block Elements & Coordination Compounds, Environmental Chemistry, Hydrogen and its Compounds, Solutions, States of Matter: Gases and Liquids, Organic Chemistry – Some Basic Principles and Techniques, Hydrocarbons, Solid State, Stoichiometry, Thermodynamics, General Principles of Metallurgy, Biomolecules, Chemistry in Everyday Life, Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, Polymers amd Organic Compounds containing Nitrogen.


This section is further divided into two sections: Botany and Zoology.

Botany: The topics include Plant Ecology, Plant Systematics, Genetics, Plants, Plant Physiology, Reproduction in Plants, Microbiology, Structural Organization in Plants- Morphology, Diversity in the Living World, Biotechnology, Internal Organization of Plants, Cell Structure and Function, Molecular Biology and Microbes and Human Welfare.

Zoology: The topics include Structural Organization in Animals, Animal Diversity-II: Phylum: Chordata, Type Study of Periplaneta Americana, Applied Biology, Ecology & Environment, Biology & Human Welfare, Animal Diversity-I: Invertebrate Phyla, Locomotion & Reproduction in Protozoa, Human Anatomy and Physiology-III,Organic Evolution, Genetics, Human Reproduction, Human Anatomy and Physiology-I, Human Anatomy and Physiology-II and Human Anatomy and Physiology-IV.
