The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has been designated the task to organize JEE Advanced 2018. The exam is being conducted by 7 Zonal IITs under the special guidance of Joint Admission Board (JAB). It has been scheduled for 20th of May 2018.
JEE Advanced 2018 would be held in complete computer-based test mode. This decision has been taken to prevent unnecessary errors such as those encountered last year.
The number of candidates who would be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced has been increased further this year. This year as many as 2,24,000 candidates among those who qualify in JEE Main 2018 would be allowed to sit for JEE Advanced.
As per the latest update, registration fee of candidates appearing for JEE Advanced 2018 as well as other such competitive examinations has been included under the new GST tax regime. The official notification on the same states, “Exact GST (Goods and Services Tax) amount will be specified as per Government of India rules at the time of registration”. The registration fee may even include other charges such as processing fees, service charges and charges levied by the banks/ payment gateway.
For the Indian nationals, the registration fee for the general category candidates is Rs. 2600 + GST. For the female candidates and SC, ST, PwD candidates the fee would be Rs. 1300 + GST. The JEE Advanced examination centres in the foreign countries would be required to pay a registration fee of USD 160+GST. The fee structure of JEE Main which is the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced is yet to be released.
