Karnataka Common Entrance Test(KCET 2018) Eligibility Criteria

Here is a look at the KCET eligibility criteria for different courses:

Science and Pharmacy Courses

  • Candidates must qualify 2nd PUC/ Class 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Candidate must have physics, chemistry and biology as mandatory main subjects and English as language subject.
  • Candidates must secure an aggregate of 50% or more in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Those belonging to the SC/ ST category require securing an aggregate of 40% or more in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Candidates appearing for the qualifying examinations may also apply.

Architecture and Engineering Courses

  • Candidates must qualify 2nd PUC/ Class 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Candidate must have physics and mathematics as mandatory main subjects and English as language subject.
  • Candidate must score an aggregate of 45% or more in three subjects. These subjects include Mathematics, Physics and any of the following subjects: Chemistry/ Computer Science, Biology, Electronics and Biotechnology.
  • Candidates appearing for the qualifying examinations may also apply.
  • Candidate need to have a valid NATA score card for architecture course.

  • Last Date of Fee Payment: February 2018 last week
  • Application Forms Submission Ends: March 2018 1st week
  • Admit Card Availability: April 2018 3rd week
  • Examination Date: 18th April (Mathematics and Biology); 19th April (Physics and Chemistry)
  • Kannada Language Test: 20th April 2018
  • Announcement of result: May 2018 last week
  • Counselling Commencement: June 2018 2nd week
