The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has switched over to the online mode for pre and post examination management system for Classes X to XII.
With the board examinations being just around the corner, it has launched a new web portal e-CBSE where schools can generate roll numbers of students for main examination and rectify errors in the candidates’ credentials, upload students’ photos using the existing user IDs and passwords.
Schools can also update the grades of internal assessments of the Class XII students online.
“Change of subject, however, is not allowed at this stage,” a CBSE official told Deccan Herald. Schools will get examination related material, including admit cards, pertaining to about 25 lakh Class X and class XII students through the e-CBSE portal this year onward.
“Apart from this being a time saver, it is also an environment friendly move. Uploading of data will reduce the use of paper,” the official said.
Around 17,000 schools affiliated to the CBSE have already become a part of this new system and many others are in the process of joining it. A total of 17,165 schools are affiliated with the board in India and abroad.
