NEET Score Card & Cut-off for PG Courses

neet score cardThe Central Board of Secondary Education has finally announced the result for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). NEET 2017 result & NEET Score Card has been declared within 11 days of getting ordinance from the Supreme Court to not delay it further. With this the apprehensions and anxiety of millions of medical aspirants who appeared for this medical entrance test has come to an end. The result is available on CBSE’s official result portal. All those who appeared NEET 2017 can check the same by keying in their date of birth and roll number there.

NEET 2017 Result/NEET Score Card Statistics

Out of the 10, 90, 085 candidates who appeared for NEET 2017 on May 7, 6, 11, 539 have cleared the exam. 3, 45, 313 among these were female candidate and 2, 66, 221 were male.

NEET 2017 Cut Off

As opposed to what was expected, NEET 2017 cut off score is lower than the last year. It has been set as 107 marks with an exception of unreserved and physically handicapped category. In the unreserved category, the cut off for the candidates is 131 marks and that in the unreserved physically handicapped category is 118 marks. NEET 2017 Top Rankers

Navdeep Singh from Punjab scored the highest and attained the 1st position at all India level with a total of 697 marks and 99.999908 percentile. Archit Gupta from Madhya Pradesh (M.P.) stood second with 695 marks and 99.999725 percentile and Manish Mulchandani from M.P. secured the third rank position with 695 marks and 99.999725 percentile score.

NEET 2017 Counselling

For all those candidates who have cleared the cut off marks, it is time now to begin preparation for NEET counselling to seek admission in MBBS/BDS courses. NEET counselling is done on two levels:

  1. For 85% all India seats by the respective state government appointed authorities.
  2. For 15% all India seats by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)

State counselling shall be done for government, government-aided and private medical institutes. The schedule and other details of counselling would be available on the Medical Education Directorates of States website as well as the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare website. The candidates are suggested to contact their respective Counselling Authorities and Institutions for more details on the same.

NEET-UG 2017 Seats Categories

The admission to various medical colleges shall be done based on the following categories:

  • All India Quota Seats
  • Central Pool Quota Seats
  • State India Quota Seats
  • State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/ Dental Colleges or any Private/ Deemed University
