As exciting as it is, a student’s life can also be quite stressful as a lot needs to be learned and handled during this phase. A student is expected to juggle between his studies, sports, extra-curricular activities and learn various other aspects of life. Managing all these things simultaneously often causes stress and anxiety. Here are eight hobbies that students can pursue to de-stress:

Painting
Drawing and painting have long been proven to be good stress busters. If you haven’t tried these yet then it is time you squeeze in some time from your daily schedule for these and see the difference. You do not require any elaborate equipment to pursue this hobby. Just a few sheets and some colours and you are good to go.

Singing
Whether you are a good singer or not try this out. You must have heard that shouting out loud helps when you are stressed or depressed. Singing has a similar impact on our mental health. So try singing aloud to de-stress yourself.

Dancing
Play loud music and dance it out to get some peace of mind. Dancing on the music of your choice is considered to be one of the best ways to get rid of stress. You may take out some time each day to dance to your favourite songs or join some good dance classes to learn different dance forms.

Swimming
Swimming is another good way to rejuvenate oneself. If you know how to swim then take the membership of your nearby pool to take a dip regularly. Learning swimming doesn’t take much time. You can master it in just a few classes. So if haven’t learnt it yet, join swimming classes to learn it and de-stress yourself.

Cycling
Cycling is a great exercise and one of the best ways to keep stress at bay. Take a cycle ride for half an hour every morning to stay energized the entire day. It will keep both your mental and physical health in check.

Pottery
Pottery is a good way to keep oneself engaged. By pursuing it, you will not only learn an all new art but also burst stress. Take out some time from your busy schedule to join pottery classes and see the positive impact it has on you.

Reading
Try reading some good work of fiction preferably before going to bed. This will relieve you of the entire day’s stress and give you a sound sleep. If you prefer non – fiction then pick a topic of your choice to broaden your knowledge and de- stress yourself at the same time.

Writing
Writing is another effective way to burst stress. It is a good idea to journal any good or bad experience you had during the day to vent out your feelings. You may even try composing a new poem or song or write a story to bring out creative self.
