The MBBS entrance exam was conducted on June 1, 2015. Around 70,000 students appeared in the tough competitive exam while it was reported that there are just 672 seats available for the course.
The candidates, on clearing the examination, can choose their choice of institute depending on their category. It may differ from the choice selected by the candidate in the application form. The choice thus made will be final and no claim will be entertained in this regard.
AIIMS was made by an Act of Parliament and was established as an institution of national importance. It was made with the object to develop various patterns in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education to give a better standard of Medical Education in India.
In all, 14,417 candidates have been shortlisted, who will be counseled to fill the 672 seats available across seven AIIMS in seven different states.
AIIMS medical colleges are located in Delhi, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Patna (Bihar), Raipur (Chattisgarh), Rishikesh (Uttarakhand).
During the counseling sessions, students are asked to choose their preferred location based on their rank in their respective categories (reserved or otherwise).
