Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET 2018 Exam) is a state level entrance exam conducted to shortlist candidates for engineering, architecture and various other courses offered at various institutes in the Indian state of Goa. The exam is managed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa.
GCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Here is the eligibility criteria for Goa CET 2018. Read this carefully before applying for the exam:
- Candidates must clear class 12th from Goa board or its equivalent.
- Candidates must have Physics, Mathematics and English as mandatory subjects. They must also have any one of Biology/ Computer Science/ Bio-Technology/ Chemistry.
- Candidates must secure at least 45% marks in the qualifying exam.
- A relaxation of 5% is given to the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes category. They require scoring 40% aggregate marks.
- Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
- Non- Resident Indians having valid passport are eligible to apply for the exam under NRI category seat.
- Persons of Indian origin (PIO) and Overseas citizens of India (OCI) are also eligible to apply for Goa CET under the NRI category.
- No minimum or maximum age limit has been set for the candidates seeking admission in engineering, architecture and pharmacy courses.
- Candidates applying for Allied Health Sciences, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Nursing and Dentistry courses must be at least 17 years old as on 31st December of the admission year.
Let us now have a look at the educational qualification for different courses:
Engineering
- Candidates must clear Class 12th or equivalent with Mathematics, English and Physics as mandatory subjects.
- Candidates must have Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or Computer Science as additional subject.
- Candidates must score an aggregate of 45% or more
- Candidates belonging to the reserved categories must score an aggregate of 40% or more.
1. Arch
- Candidates must clear Class 12th or equivalent with Mathematics as mandatory subject.
- Candidates must score an aggregate of 50% or more
- Candidates belonging to the reserved categories must score an aggregate of 45% or more.
- Candidates must qualify in NATA.
2. Sc. Nursing
- Candidates must pass HSSC with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as mandatory subjects.
- Candidates must score an aggregate of 45% or more
- Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST and OBC categories must score an aggregate of 40% or more.
3. Pharma
- Candidates must pass class 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and English as mandatory subjects.
- Candidate must also have studied Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology and Bio Technology.
BHMS and AHS
- Candidates must have cleared Class 12th from Goa Board or its equivalent examination.
- Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as mandatory subjects.
- Candidates must score a minimum aggregate of 50% marks
- Candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC category must score a minimum of 40% marks.

About College
As stated above admission to various institutes in Goa shall be provided based on GCET. Some of the participating institutes include Goa College of Engineering, Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Info Tech., Goa Colleges of Architecture and Goa College of Pharmacy.
