IIT JEE Main Josaa 2015 Joint Seat Allocation Reschedule:

The CBSE and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) conduct JEE for admissions to IITs, ISM, IIITs, NITS, and GFTIs. The CBSE and IIT have launched a new web portal for alloting seats. The name of the portal is Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for allotting seats to JEE Advanced students. The JoSAA will be the sole authority for allotting seats and will start the process on June 29. The launch of the web portal has resulted in the seat allocation process. And that process was to start from June 25-29 being postponed to June 29-July 3.

The seat allocation to IITs, NITs, and other technical institutes was supposed to begin on 1 July. But now it is expected to be delayed. As per the new schedule, option filling for students will be available for five days from June 29 to July 3 during and which a mock seat allocation round will be conducted on July 2.

It will be followed by the validation of option forms by students on July 4. Thereafter, on July 5 the first round of seat allocation will take place, and students allotted seats therein will have to confirm between July 6 and 10. This will be followed by the second and third rounds of allocation and the fourth round of allocation will be held for only NITs. The academic session for IITs is expected to start on July 21, five days later than the previous July 16 start.
